Mission/Objectives

To support research and application of behavior analytic methods, practices, and principles to human challenges in health, sport, and fitness.

Description of Membership

Members are behavior analysts with HSF-related personal or professional interests, or professionals in fields related to health, sport, and fitness who have an interest in applied behavior analysis.

Recurring Annual Events

Each year, the SIG sponsors a $100 student research award and organizes symposia for ABA International's annual convention. At the convention, the SIG conducts its annual business meeting and schedules workout sessions as a service to convention goers and their families.

Publications/Newsletters

One to four newsletters are published annually. Due-paying members will receive newsletters as e-mail attachments. At present there are no provisions for mailing paper copies. An electronic bulletin board is available to the general public via Yahoo!, and may be joined without cost at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/B-fit/.

Join the mailing list and SIG roster by e-mailing the Chair/treasurer, Michael A. Kirkpatrick, at mkirkpatrick@wju.edu.

Specifically of Interest to Behavior Analysts

The group provides opportunities for networking, collaboration, and support of research and application. Additionally, members interested in personal fitness or health maintenance often find knowledgeable colleagues with similar interests.
