Can I pre-pay for CE credits? How?
You may purchase CE credits for workshops and Webcasts at the time you register and pay for those events. For select convention and special conference sessions, which offer variable credit depending on how many hours of events you attend, you may pay for CE on-site at at the event registration desk when you turn in your sign-in and out sheet(s), or you can mail your forms and payment to the ABAI office after the event.
When will I get my certificate?
Once your payment is received in the office, the paperwork has been processed, and your attendance in the event verified, ABAI will e-mail you a CE certificate or a link to see it on your ABAI Portal account. This generally takes no more than 15 business days.
When do I need to pay for CEUs?
Payment can be received in the ABAI office up to 60 days after the event, but you will not receive your certificate until the payment is processed.
How can I find out which events are offered for CE?
Visit the events page (https://apps.abainternational.org/events.asp) and select the event that you will be attending. The event program will list whether an event is offered for BACB and/or PSY CE credit.
Can I sign up for CE after I have already registered?
Yes, you can receive CE as long as all of the requirements are met.
I am certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). How many credits do I need to maintain my certification?
Board Certified Behavior Analysts are required by the BACB to accrue a total of 36 hours of continuing education during their three year cycle. Board Certified Behavior Associate Behavior Analysts are required to earn a total of 24 hours during that time period.
What if I need CE both as a licensed psychologist and a certified behavior analyst?
ABAI offers select pre-convention workshops for CE for both BACB and PSY continuing education. When registering for a workshop and buying CE, be sure to indicate that you need certificates for both the APA and the BACB. You will NOT be charged twice for both types of credit, but you do need to sign up for both.
