Behavioral Technology

By Dr. Christina Whalen

In its first year, the Technology SIG has attracted about 15 members, and we are predicting growth in 2008–2009 with the increasing prevalence of technology in ABA. At the 2008 ABAI convention in Chicago, a poster was presented to recruit new members at the EXPO and a business meeting was held to make plans for 2008 2009.

This year, the SIG has made plans for the launch of a Web site that will provide information about technology in ABA, a list of companies who provide ABA technology, blog postings about the use of technology in ABA, and a research review on ABA and technology. A committee has been initiated with roles assigned to individuals who will work on the site and begin to grow the SIG membership online. For the 2009 ABAI convention, the SIG plans to present a symposium and a panel on ABA and Technology.
