Positive Behavior Support
By Dr. Matt Tincani
At the 33rd Annual Conference of the Association for Behavior Analysis International, the following officers were elected for the Positive Behavior Support (PBS) Special Interest Group. Robert Putnam was elected President, Benjamin Smith was elected Vice President and Pat Egan was elected Secretary/Treasurer. One of our goals has been to grow the membership of the ABAI PBS SIG section. One of these strategies has been to increase both membership in the Association of Behavior Analysis International and the PBS SIG by reaching out to members of the Association for Positive Behavior Support. Conversations have occurred with the leadership of the Association for Positive Behavior Support as to how to work together to promote positive behavior support and applied behavior analysis. The Positive Behavior Support SIG met at the 34th Annual Conference of the Association for Behavior Analysis International on Sunday May 25, 2008. People interested in the Positive Behavior Support SIG’s activities are encouraged to contact Dr. Putnam at (781) 437-1207 or bputnam@mayinstitute.org.
