Korean ABA

By Dr. Jeongil Kim

The Korean ABA held an annual convention and symposium in fall of 2006 in Daegu, Korea. Usual annual activities included the Korean ABA summer and winter professional training programs, with around 500-600 participants. Based on its certification regulations, the Korean ABA grants a certificate of Behavior Therapist to individuals who complete two-year training courses and pass the certification examination.

Last year, we also published a quarterly journal that was ranked by the Ministry of Education as one of the best publications. The journal, Journal of Emotional & Behavioral Disorders, is in Korean and targets the education and general welfare of children and youth with emotional and/or behavioral disorders.

As an international affiliate chapter, the Korean ABA has been highly motivated to work cooperatively with ABA chapters in different regions to advance scientific and practical application of applied behavior analysis in Korean society
